The building inspectorate of the canton of Baselland has granted HRS the building permit for the “AM SCHÄNZLI” project. HRS is the project developer and general contractor, while the Swisscanto Investment Foundation acts as the client.

Over the next three years, the Hagnau Ost site in Muttenz will undergo a fundamental transformation: A new living environment with high-quality open spaces will be created on a total area of 18,000 square meters. The architectural firm Burckhardt+Partner and Fontana Landschaftsarchitektur have been involved in the cooperative neighborhood development since the beginning of the project. Their shared goal is to connect the currently isolated area with the exciting natural surroundings, thereby creating new connections.

The center of the development will feature three high-rise buildings constructed with resource-saving methods. Between these buildings, a square will serve as a meeting place. All open spaces are planned to be densely planted. The ground floors and first floors of the high-rises will provide 14,000 m² of space for a diverse range of commercial and service offerings. Approximately 5,000 m² of this space has already been leased to a major retailer, a daycare center, a fitness studio, and a restaurant. Additionally, 385 apartments will be built here, ranging from studios to 5.5-room units. The project leaders expect a staggered construction period of approximately three years, with the first tenants likely moving in by autumn 2027.
