On May 15, 2020, Mr. César Vuadens, member of the HRS Management Board, handed over the keys to the new building of the Cery Psychiatric Centre to Mrs. Catherine Borghini Polier, Director of Construction at the CHUV.

Mental health has become a public health priority. This awareness makes mental health appear as a social good of the highest importance, which must be protected. The policy of the Canton of Vaud aims to maintain and improve the mental health of the population and to guarantee equal access to health care. The current buildings are no longer able to meet the changing needs, the current programmes and standards of care.

With this expansion of the clinic, 170 beds will be available throughout the site. This building complies with the MINERGIE-ECO standard (label with information on health- and ecological aspects of construction). The building is part of an extensive park in green surroundings and offers a modular construction on 4 floors. It allows the grouping of three care units to optimize the efficiency of patient care. The completion of the second phase is scheduled for summer 2022.
