Scheidgasse Bären
Steffisburg
In the middle of the historic center of Steffisburg, well shielded only 80 meters from the village street, HRS has built four apartment buildings with a total of 89 rental apartments and commercial space. With the new construction on the largely undeveloped site, a wish of the community for inner densification was fulfilled.
In the middle of the historic center of Steffisburg, well shielded only 80 meters from the village street, HRS has built four apartment buildings with a total of 89 rental apartments and commercial space. The new building on the largely undeveloped site meets a wish of the community for internal densification.
CONCEPT/ARCHITECTURE
Three larger and one smaller building as well as green and open spaces make the obstacle-free development an appealing residential quarter in the center of Steffisburg. Thanks to the aesthetically selected materials for the outer shell, the new buildings fit seamlessly into the image of the historic village center. The large-scale wooden cladding, in combination with the two differently colored plaster surfaces, has a timeless yet stylish effect. The interior loggias also provide air between the slightly offset, four-story residential buildings - they harmonize perfectly with the straightforward, uncluttered and attractive design of the neighborhood. With their generous outdoor spaces, the small apartments are of high quality. The different types of apartments are mostly oriented on two or more facades.
The development was built in solid construction. The four buildings stand on a basement level, while an underground garage for 73 parking spaces extends between them. The facade consists of a compact facade according to Minergie® P standard with a robust mineral plaster. The balcony layers are accentuated with wooden sheathing and are reminiscent of the arbors in the surrounding area.
ENERGY CONCEPT/SUSTAINABILITY
The Scheidgasse development meets the strict requirements of Minergie-P®; however, certification was waived. Photovoltaic systems on all four buildings produce their own electricity. In total, the photovoltaic systems achieve an output of 340 Wp.The thermal energy is supplied by NetZulg AG: The district heating network from Steffisburg produces the energy mainly with waste heat from the waste incineration plant and with a combined heat and power plant.
