Zurich
A new district is planned for the Hardturm site, which has been vacant since 2007 and used to be the home of the Grasshopper Clubs Zurich. In addition to a football stadium, it will provide space for cooperative housing as well as studio and commercial spaces. The financing also makes the concept of the “Ensemble” project so unique, with which HRS won the investor tender. The revenue from the high-rise buildings finance the stadium and the cooperative offers affordable housing, an economically and ecologically pioneering solution.
HRS is planning the entire “Ensemble”, in which a total of four top-tier architectural firms are involved, using the BIM method, ensuring an optimal, resource-efficient and transparent concept for all stakeholders. In addition to the football stadium for 18,000 spectators, a cooperative building with 174 non-profit apartments, two high-rise buildings with 570 rental apartments, as well as studio and commercial spaces will be created, a forward-thinking contribution to urban development and an urban design triad of football, housing and neighbourhood life that will benefit a broad section of the population.
