Meret Oppenheim high-rise building
Basel
Striking construction for a lively district
The striking Meret Oppenheim skyscraper is located directly next to Basel SBB railway station. The 85-metre high building blends well into the urban flair of the popular Gundeldinger district. Apartments, restaurants and offices and the proximity to the city centre make this a perfect location for living and working.
A dynamic exterior coupled with an upmarket interior
The well-known architects Herzog && de Meuron are creating an architecturally impressive yet functionally efficient building as well as individual apartments in a central location on construction site B of the SüdPark in Basel. The highlight of the building is its façade with movable elements, which gives the high-rise a constantly changing appearance and provides the necessary shading.
The base of the high-rise building houses the restaurant, office and cultural department of Switzerland's radio and TV broadcaster (SRF). The 19 floors above contain 153 high-quality rental apartments of various layouts and sizes. All apartments have room-high window fronts, spacious kitchens and controlled ventilation. The four penthouse apartments are luxurious with breathtaking views over the city and surroundings.
