On the site of the former Hispano-Suiza factory, HRS worked with Swisscanto and the architectural firm Favre & Guth to build a large complex for commercial, office and craft premises (51,000 m2 of usable space). The focus of this project was on sustainability from the outset, and it even achieved HPE certification. The island-like arrangement of the buildings shields stores and restaurants from street noise and the basement floors are tailored to the needs of SMEs and tradespeople. The building to the west of the site was extended and now houses the Haute école d'arts et de design. With its glass façades and metal cladding, it fits perfectly into the ensemble and the urban structure and is heated with 100% renewable energy.
